While Lauren was at Marshall University Volleyball Camp (and then also had to work), Jason and I decided to grab Trent and Emily and make the most of a well needed day off. So we went to see the New River Gorge Bridge - a steel arch bridge that is about 3,000 feet long and spans over the New River Gorge here in Fayetteville, West Virginia. It was for many years the world's longest steel single-span arch bridge, but is now the third longest. We learned that the bridge is crossed by about 16,000 vehicles each day. It was breath taking and defiantly worth the trip to see. While there, we picnicked and drove down to the Hawks Nest. On our way home we stumbled upon some amazing waterfalls. What a great way to end the weekend!
Here are some photos from our little day trip.

ReplyDeleteamazing photography and love the bridge picture. The one with Dad in the rocker made me chuckle. Remember the lady in the big rocker on sesame street. Funny then, creepy now.
